flatfair Tenant Guarantor is linked to the named tenant, property, tenancy and agreed rent share shown in the Tenant Guarantor agreement. Subject to the agreement terms, the service may continue for the same tenancy for up to three years in total. It does not automatically transfer to a different tenancy, property or tenant.
What changes must I report?
Tell your agent and flatfair as early as possible if:
- the rent, tenancy term, payment schedule or named tenants will change
- the landlord, property manager or property ownership changes
- you plan to renew or extend the tenancy
- you plan to move to a different property or another unit
- your financial circumstances change and you may struggle to pay rent
- you expect to leave before the tenancy formally ends
Do not assume that a change is covered automatically. A material change may need flatfair's written agreement.
What happens if I renew or extend my tenancy?
The service may continue for the same tenancy for up to three years in total, subject to the Tenant Guarantor agreement. Ask your agent and flatfair to confirm whether the service will continue before you sign a renewal or extension.
What happens if I move to another property or unit?
A move to a different property or unit is usually a new tenancy. The existing Tenant Guarantor service does not transfer automatically.
Ask your agent and flatfair what is required before signing the new tenancy or relying on the service for the new property.
What if I want to leave early?
Tell your landlord or agent and flatfair before leaving. Moving out does not by itself end the tenancy or your responsibility for rent.
Any early end to the tenancy should be formally agreed and recorded in writing. If a Deed of Surrender is proposed, make sure you understand it before signing. A Deed of Surrender is a legal agreement that ends a tenancy early.
How do I report a change?
Submit a support request and include your full name, property address, Guarantor service ID or flatfair plan ID, the change and the date it is expected to take effect. You should also tell your letting agent or property manager.
This article is a summary. It does not change the signed Tenant Guarantor agreement, your tenancy agreement or the quote provided to you. If this article and an agreement differ, the agreement takes priority.
